Taller La Muñeca de la Abuela

Founded in 2015 by Paz Evelyn Hernandez and Ismael Ugalde in Santa Rosa Solis Temacalcingo in the State of Mexico. The workshop collaborates with 13 women from the same community who handsaw various styles of this adorable artisan Mexican doll.

The Otomi doll (from Nahuatl meaning baby) has its origin from the Otomi women settled in the municipality of Amealco de Bonfil, Querétaro and was declared a Mexican cultural heritage piece in 2017. Today, it is one of the most representative symbols of the Mexican tradition and culture that aims to create the best childhood memories.
